A Found Friend
Made for Micro Jam: Islands.
Play as a young, lonely kiwi, hopping across islands and dodging predators, on a quest for a friend.
First game made in Godot, coding is still confusing, but my understanding has increased!
Art and code done by myself.

The art style is really charming, the colour palette is lovely, and decorating the page to match really pulls it all together.
A few notes on balance: checkpoints and a bit more jump leniency would go a long way. Some of the difficulty seems like it might not be fully intended yet, the ocelot(?) near the start felt almost impossible to dodge, so I ended up just eating the hit each time. I also noticed my jumps not getting triggered a few times, which made platforming feel less consistent than it should.
One possible bug: at one point I died right at the edge of a platform, and it looked like the water collision might have triggered early.
Really charming entry overall, and I think with a bit of polish this could be a genuinely fun, cute platformer. I wasn't able to finish it, but I'd love to see where you take it.
